Something Other Than a Card

Good morning to all my awesome blogging friends! Today I have something special to show you. This gorgeous diamond willow lamp was a gift from my daughter and son-in-law.
My daughter has been enjoying this hobby for many years and has crafted some magnificent works of art such as lamps, picture frames, candle holders, canes and free-standing coat hangers. She has piqued my son-in-law's interest in this craft as well and it's something they enjoy doing together when they are not canoeing, hunting, camping, etc., etc. The base of the lamp features stones collected along the shores of Lake Superior...she loves collecting agates!
Diamond willow is not a species of willow, but a result of an attack by one or more types of fungus on several pieces of willow. The diamonds are more elongated ovals with pointed ends, but they can also be short and wide. No two are ever alike.
She finds the willow in the swamps in Minnesota. Good quality willow can be found in swamps or along riverbanks. It is an excellent wood to work with and especially great for carving.

Thank you for visiting, dear friends. Hope you have an enjoyable day. Much love, Christina

Today I made a card with one of my favorite Special Edition Tildas. I featured her on luxurious papers by K&Co. called "Winter Wonderland". Thank you to a special friend for this lovely paper. I placed Tilda on a Nesties heart die and I also used a lovely Memory Box die I rec'd in the mail called "frosty border". You can also spot a Magnolia lace die on my card.

As always, I thank you for visiting and leaving a comment. Much love, Christina

Winter Fairy

Hello to all my fabulous blogging friends! I was up all night with a toothache...OUCH!!! I couldn't bear to lay down because the throbbing intensified, so I spent the night in my craft room and that's one of the cards I managed to complete.
This adorable image is a Wee Stamp and I colored it with copics. Papers are from Best Creations and the Snowflake is a Spellbinders die. The beautiful brad and stamp were a gift from my wonderful friend, Jacque. Thanks Sweetie!
Wishing you all a wonderful day and thank you so much for visiting my blog.

Happy Halloween

Good morning everyone...hope you are having a fabulous Sunday! The weather is lovely and I already took my Buddy for a nice long walk and I'm soooo ready for a power nap!
This adorable witch I'm featuring today is only available in digi form from Wee Stamps, so I just had to download her. I colored her with copics and I used some Basic Grey papers from last year. I totally adore all their new stamps.

Inventory Challenge #52

Good morning everyone. Gosh, this has been a magnificent week of beautiful weather.
I know this cannot continue, but I'm definitely enjoying it while it lasts!

Today Danielle and I, along with Rene, invite you to a very special challenge. It has been a whole year since we began this journey and the question is ......What does it mean to me???? Well, first and foremost, it means friendship and a common goal....reduce our inventory! Have I achieved that goal???? Somewhat! My craft room is still bursting at the seams and it's going to take a lot of cards to make a difference. I am, however, recommitting to this goal. Along the way, I have been so lucky and forged some wonderful friendships.
In honor of my friends, I have created a card today using only items gifted to me by my friends. I am so honored and grateful to have you in my life!!!!
I am immensely grateful to all the wonderful people who take the time to visit my blog. Thank you all so much.....LOVE YOU ALL!!!!!

Now, I would like to invite you to visit my dear friends and teammates, DANIELLE
and RENE. I know they will have something special to share with you. Hugs!
Dearest Sandy, we will miss you....I hope you will continue to check in with us.

Happy Birthday to my Son

This will be a short post. In the midst of cleaning (Ughhhhhh!!!!) I did manage to make a birthday card for my son, who is still a bachelor. He likes cards with no frills, so I did not add flowers or any other embellishments, but I did manage to sneak in a couple of ribbons. I think he will appreciate that card....love this gorgeous Kenny K image!
Have a wonderful day and thank you for visiting my blog. Love and hugs, Christina

Christmas Card Entries for October

Happy Sunday to all my blogging friends! Wow....the sun is out and it's a beautiful day. It's time again to enter my cards for the HJERTEBODENS JULE BLOGG.
When I post multiple cards, I never know in what order they will appear, so I will generalize my descriptions. I used the following papers to construct my cards:
Best Creations, Pion Design and Memory Box "Mistletoe". I colored all the new Christmas Tildas with copics. I used Souffle pens to color in the flowers Tilda is holding in one of the images. All the other embellishments were from my stash.

Thank you for visiting my humble blog . I appreciate your comments and your support. Love and hugs, Christina
