Pastries

I hope you all had a fabulous Christmas.....I'm presently still in the recovery mode.
Most of you know that I work nights, which means I worked all day and all night and did not get any sleep for two days! It was a lot easier when I was younger, so I decided that I would definitely take off next Christmas! I had an early Christmas dinner yesterday and was in my PJs before the guests were out the door...LOL!!!
I feel so much better today.
I thought I'd show you some of the pastries I made. Didn't make any cookies this year. When my kids were still home, I used to bake 45 different kinds of cookies. All the teachers, friends, neighbors, nursing homes, etc. were recipients of my cookies.
Baking is something I really still enjoy doing, but since my husband was diagnosed with diabetes, I don't do much baking any more.
If you took the time to swing by my blog, I thank you very much! Hope you have a wonderful week before the craziness begins! Hugs, Christina

My first book card

Good afternoon everyone! I've been working on this book card for a couple of days now.....my first one and it definitely won't be my last!!! Thanks to my dear friend, Danielle, for her assistance with the measurements. I have to admit it took two tries to get the inside accordian frame to be acceptable. This needs some practice.
This card was totally inspired by the incredibly talented TRINE. She is an amazing
artist and she does spectacular work with the Kenny K images. You can see her magnificent card HERE.
The inside of the card features another Kenny K image inserted in a pocket and I added truffles in the center. Papers are from the BG Sweet Threads collection. The images are colored with copics.

Poinsettia Fairy

Good morning to all my friends out there....hope you are having an enjoyable Sunday!
Got some bad news yesterday! My son, an avid hunter, fell on his way down from the tree stand and broke some ribs. Needless to say, he is not feeling too well this morning! My husband will go and help out for a few days, especially with his dogs!

I purchased this beautiful SWEET PEA Poinsettia Fairy and I could not wait to ink her up. She is so stunning. Of course, the final step was taping this lovely image onto the card and I'm sure your keen eyes will notice that it is CROOKED....LOL!!!!
Scor Tape is unforgiving....no way I was going to get this baby off!!!!
Anyway, all papers are from my scrap pile. The beautiful lace was a gift from my sweet friend, Danielle! Love, love it!!! Flowers are from Prima.

Something Other Than a Card

Good morning to all my awesome blogging friends! Today I have something special to show you. This gorgeous diamond willow lamp was a gift from my daughter and son-in-law.
My daughter has been enjoying this hobby for many years and has crafted some magnificent works of art such as lamps, picture frames, candle holders, canes and free-standing coat hangers. She has piqued my son-in-law's interest in this craft as well and it's something they enjoy doing together when they are not canoeing, hunting, camping, etc., etc. The base of the lamp features stones collected along the shores of Lake Superior...she loves collecting agates!
Diamond willow is not a species of willow, but a result of an attack by one or more types of fungus on several pieces of willow. The diamonds are more elongated ovals with pointed ends, but they can also be short and wide. No two are ever alike.
She finds the willow in the swamps in Minnesota. Good quality willow can be found in swamps or along riverbanks. It is an excellent wood to work with and especially great for carving.

Thank you for visiting, dear friends. Hope you have an enjoyable day. Much love, Christina
