Coffee and Pastries
Good afternoon everyone...hope you are all having a fabulous day. Today's post is not about cards. Today I had company from Norway and this is what I served. Since I live in rural America, I do not have the luxury of buying a nice pastry.....I have to bake it myself! What you see here is a Mandarin Torte, Paris-Brest (the filling is yummy custard) and my super chunky cookies.
I recently purchased a Keurig coffee system and if you are a coffee lover, it doesn't get any better than this!!!! The coffee comes in single-serve capsules which you simply insert and out comes the best tasting coffee. How convenient is that????
Hope you enjoyed my post today and thank you so much for visiting. Hugs and best wishes for a wonderful day! Christina

ReplyDeleteOH! la la... This looks absolutely D-I-V-I-N-E! Home made cookies and pastries. Mouth watering.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure your friend appreciated these delicacies.

You got me with the Paris-Brest! Anything with a custard in it can't be bad!!! :-) I'll make the coffee your bring the goodies. Myrna
ReplyDeleteOoh this looks so yummy Christina. Like the German cakes I used to make and am still making;-) I don't live in that kind of rural area but still always prefer making my own cakes and pastries!

Iris
Christina!!! I am drooling! YUMMO!!!! You sure know how to treat a guest! I can be there in about three days! :)
ReplyDeletehugs, Sharon
Wow Christina, it looks absolutely delicious and I know it even tasted better. I would prefer your cake over some american cake or pastry any time. Nothing like german or european pastries/cake. You make me want to go bake a Frankfurter Kranz or Schwarzwaelder Kirschtorte. How does a pound of unsalted butter, a dozen egg yolks, sugar and some liquor sound for the filling.....lololol
ReplyDeleteIt looks absolutely devine.
wow! YOu had me at "good afternoon." lol I don't just have a sweet tooth, I have sweet teeth. Your such a wonderful friend to bake your company these awesome, mouth watering goodies, AND coffee to boot. I'm sure that your company enjoyed eating these as much as I did just viewing them.
ReplyDeleteHappy Wednesday~

Oh my Christina, I'll bet all your co workers love when you come to work with your samples for them to taste!! Many years ago when I first became a police officer we worked 12 hour shifts 24 hours a day with no fast food places here so we had to bring in our food.. each shift would bring in electric skillits or crock pots or food and we would each try to out do each other.. Oh the goodies we would come up with.. many good and unusual foods (until) we got our 1st all night McDonalds :( so your food looks so delicious and mouth watering!!
ReplyDeleteI was doing very well on my weight reduction efforts today. That is until I looked at your blog! Now I'm craving sweet goodies. Looks like your baking talent equals your cardmaking talent!
